Description

DaA is an acronym for Designer as Author, an idea in graphic design circle that thinks about the question of how designers become authors. The notion of authorship in graphic design practice shifts its intention from communication to the origination of messages and suggests new approaches to the issue of design process.

DaA is chosen as a title of this magazine that is produced in collaboration with students to give exsistance of messeges.

Messages that are conceived in the mind of designers are represented in the form of a print magazine.

This first edition of DaA is about photography and its impact on the creation of visual art. At the outset, students are asked to read an article The Art in the Age of Mechanical Reproduction by Walter Benjamin. Responses to point of views in this article compell students to think, research, explore and produce.
